Japan Urges Asia to Build Oil Reserves Amid Middle East Risks

Japan’s trade minister Ryosei Akazawa called on Asian countries to boost oil stockpiles and infrastructure while strengthening cooperation with producers, citing mounting risks in the Middle East. He spoke at the virtual International Energy Forum and said Japan will seek to take on a leadership role.
